“We’re the kind of team that brings snacks to the hard conversations —

because courage goes down easier with chips on the table.”

CHRISTA

Therapist, educator, and founder of Let’s Talk Access. Christa turns complex systems into tools people can actually use, blending clinical expertise with creative spark. She’s led programs around the world, taught everything from trauma recovery to peace education, and believes real change starts with honoring people as they are.

Happiest near the ocean or in the mountains, she shares her home with Alfie the opinionated tabby and collections of special interest tools & supplies.

NICOLE

Nicole supports Let’s Talk Access as part of our Core Stewardship Team. She’s passionate about community-led, accessible, and stigma-free approaches to mental wellbeing, and believes support works best when it’s rooted in empathy and real connection. Over the spring Nicole lead our community-backed Beltane Benefit night, coordinating artists, businesses, and wrangling volunteers for an epic evening of beauty.

Outside of the project, Nicole loves making music and singing, and spends her time taking hip hop, lyrical, and jazz dance classes. She’s happiest near the water and has a summer goal of getting a kayak — because being on the water feels like home. This Winter Nicole made Krampus come to life on our stage - singing and performing to help raise our seed capital.

Anna

Anna

Anna Braunizer graduated from Dalhousie University in 2018, where she received a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Anna (she/they) is from England and Austria, moving to the island the day after her 6th birthday and growing up near SṈIDȻEȽ and W̱JOȽEȽP on the peninsula. She currently works as a generalist occupational therapist, which means she could work with people on doing what matters, whether that is collaborating on recovery from a traumatic stress injury or working on home accessibility. When taking care of her mental health, Anna loves to dance at Collective Heeling, make art, connect with nature and learn about the Land and healing with the Land at WSIKEM Ivy Project, and spend time with friends.

AIMEE

Aimee is an Ontario Registered Psychotherapist who works from a trauma-informed, attachment-based lens. She’s interested in how people come to understand their emotional patterns, regulate their nervous systems, and build trust in themselves and their relationships.

With Let’s Talk Access, Amy supports the organization and development of the Access Guide — a companion resource that follows each podcast episode with added context, reflection prompts, and practical tools people can use at their own pace. Aimee manages our team of research volunteers.

LINDSEY

Lindsey supports Let’s Talk Access through on-the-ground coordination, recruitment support, and the behind-the-scenes wrangling that helps keep things moving. She also contributes to audio editing and storyboarding, helping shape conversations into clear, accessible stories. If you want to get involved, Lindsey is who you reach out to.

A former military nurse and mom, Lindsey is currently in a period of transition, bringing steadiness, humour, and a strong get-it-done energy into this next chapter of her work. She often works alongside Nicole, and the two of them have become a go-to, high-performing duo — equal parts capable and chaotic, with Lindsey sometimes answering to the stage name Jabba the Butt.

MARNI

Marni lives on the territory of the Quw’utsun’ peoples (Cowichan Valley) and has been an event volunteer with Let’s Talk Access, jumping in wherever support is needed.

Marni and Christa first met in the back of a pastry delivery truck, where Marni patiently taught Christa how to drive her very first delivery route — a meeting that pretty much sums up her mix of skill, generosity, and good humour. She’s an incredible baker, loves to travel, and shares her life with a gorgeous short-haired calico cat named Torti.

Amanda

Counsellor, researcher, and detail devotee. Amanda designed the ways we measured what matters most for participants, ensuring our impact was real and trackable. Brazilian and European by heritage, she brought warmth, adaptability, and a big-picture curiosity to huge challenges.

A new mom and early-career therapist, she blended focus, creativity, and just enough optimism to make our big ideas happen.

Katrina

Support worker, resource wrangler, and the project’s quiet backbone. Katrina kept the program grounded in its roots while helping it grow in new directions. Having trained with Christa a decade ago, she’s spent years supporting communities and groups on the mental health access front.

A mom of three, she’s deeply resourceful, loves weaving folklore and fairies into home life, and can often be found exploring wild places with her family. A natural researcher, she brings curiosity and depth to everything she touches.
